Before we begin
We open with the Ta‘awwudh (seeking refuge in Allah), the Basmalah, and the invocation “Yā man Huwa Allāhu alladhī lā ilāha illā Huwa” — “O He who is Allah, besides Whom there is no deity.” This beautiful supplication, drawn from Surah Al-Hashr (59:22), is traditionally used to call upon Allah by His most beautiful names before reciting them.
